Why more efficiency than other hybrids

Mainstream hybrids, as for example Toyota Prius and the GM/BMW/Mercedes "Dual Mode", use one or several planetary gears.

Planetary gear laws and associated design:

Makes it hard to run the internal combustion engine and the generator at respective optimum.
Force part of the engine energy to be transferred through the generator, electronics and electric motor, reducing acceleration and giving very low towing capacity
Make it impossible for all components to participate fully in accelerating the vehicle. (As the generator doesn’t provide any power, and is actually only consuming IC engine power)

Strigear power train

The Strigear motors-clutch-gear combo allows:

fuel engine to run 94-96% of optimum, and
enable a very large part of energy to go directly from fuel engine to wheel mechanically
All components can participate fully in accelerating the vehicle.
