Strigear is a hybrid system that can reduce the CO2 emissions for
Strigear uses two electric motors, an internal combustion engine and an actuator controlled gear box, all beeing standard industry components. The innovation involved is rather a combination of a classic power train with servo algorithms from robotics industry. Read more here.
Strigear is especially designed for easy integration in existing platforms and car models. The existing engine and gear box is replaced by a smaller engine and a Strigear motor/gear unit.

A few practical examples:
A Strigear (gasoline) SAAB 9-3 would emit 86 g CO2/km instead of 182 for a performance wise similar present diesel SAAB 9-3. This is a 52 % reduction. The Strigear version would give a slightly better acceleration (8.6 sec versus 8.9 sec 0-100km/h). Read more here.
A Strigear car with the same chassis, mass and air resistance as the second generation Prius would give 27 % CO2 reduction and some 40 % higher acceleration (3.25 liter gasoline/100 km, 76 g CO2/km and 0-100 km/h in 7.7 sec). Read more here.
